DUSHANBE, November 8, 2011, Asia-Plus  – Dushanbe police have shut down a drug den operating in Dushanbe.

According to the Interior Ministry, police officers arrested a 31-year-old A.S. on December 7 after receiving information that he turned his apartment into a drug den.

“Six drug addicts, including two women, were detained along with the drug holder,” said the source.  “Four used syringes with remains of heroin solution and devices used for taking narcotics were found in the apartment.”

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug den holder and an investigation is under way.

According to the statistical data from the Ministry of Health, more than 7,700 drug dependent person have been officially registered in the country to date.
