KHUJAND, December 9, 2011, Asia-Plus — Three persons were killed and at least one other was injured in three traffic accidents that took place in the northern Sughd province on Thursday, according to the Sughd traffic police department.

In the Spitamen district, a tractor ran into two women who were crossing the street in the Kurkat jamoat.  One of them died on the spot, while another one sustained various injuries and was taken to the Spitamen central district hospital.

In the city of Isfara, a vehicle ran into a 31-year Abdughani Majidov.  He died on the way to the hospital.

The third fatal traffic accident took place in the Ghonchi district.  A truck ZIL-130 ran into a 34-year-old Abdullo Amonboyev who was crossing the street in the Yakhtan jamoat.  He died on the way to the hospital.

According to the statistical data from the Sughd traffic police department, 333 traffic accidents have been reported in the province in January-November this year.  137 people have been killed and 348 others have been injured n those accidents.
