DUSHANBE, January 24, 2012, Asia-Plus  — As of November 30, 2011 an average monthly wage in Tajikistan stood at 442 somoni (equivalent to little more than US$93.00), according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

The minimum monthly wage last year was 80.00 somoni (equivalent to US$16.80).

In the territorial cross section the highest average monthly wage was reported in Dushanbe – 894.00 somoni.  In districts subordinate to the center, the average monthly wage amounted to 422.00 somoni, in Gorno Badakhshan – 340.00 somoni, in Sughd province – 325.00 somoni, and in Khatlon province – 287.00 somoni.

In the real sector of economy, the lowest average monthly wage was reported in agriculture, hunting and forestry – 145.00 somoni.  They are followed by the fishery sector – 303.00 somoni.

The highest average monthly wages in the real sector of economy were reported in the construction and mining sectors – 1,123 and 1,094 somoni respectively.

As of November 30, 2011, the average monthly wage in the real sector of economy amounted to 395.00 somoni.

In the service industries, the highest average monthly wage was reported in the financing intermediation sectors – more than 1,800 somoni.  The average monthly wage in this sector was 576.00 somoni.
