Rockslide, which occurred on May 13 as a result of the earthquake, caused severe damage to the 23rd kilometer of the Labijar-Tavildara road, which links central Tajikistan with eastern part of the country.

Rockslide destroyed more than 150 meters of the road, stone obstruction in some areas are 6 meters high, Tajik Transport Ministry told AP.

“Experts and machinery from Tajik Transport Ministry and Tajik Emergency and Civil Defense Committee are currently working at the scene,” the source reported.

The source said that it remains unclear when the road will be opened.
