On May 11 Tajik Prime Minister Aqil Aqilov visited disaster-affected Kulob and Muminobod regions of Tajikistan where mudslides, which occurred on May 10 caused severe damage to both regions.

Aqilov was accompanied by the chairman of the Disaster Response Headquarter Murodali Alimardon and chairman of Khatlon province Gaibullo Afzal.

According to Kulob Mayor’s Office, the disaster caused damage to 126 households in Dagana and Ziraki Jamoats.

“No victims were reported since people were warned about potential disaster situations one month ago,” the source said adding that the mudslide washed away part of a local road which links the jamoats with Muminobod region.

Prime Minister ordered related services to undertake all possible measures to liquidate the consequences of the disaster within the nearest time.
