In the past four months this year Tajikistan imported nearly 130.000 tons of oil products worth more than $150.000, Tajik Ministry of Energy and Industry reported.

In the reporting period Tajikistan imported more than 66.500 tons of gasoline, 35.200 tons of diesel fuel, 16.200 tons of aviation fuel and other fuel.

According to Tajik Ministry of Energy and Industry, at least 63% (81.000 tons) of oil products in the reporting period were imported from Russia.

Nearly 30.000 tons (22.5%) were imported from Turkmenistan, 6.200 tons (4.8%) from Kazakhstan, 6.100 tons (4.7%) from Belarus, 3.800 tons (3%) from Kyrgyzstan. Oil products were also imported from Azerbaijan, Ukraine and other countries.

It should be noted that Tajikistan has reduced the volume of imported oil products from Russia as compared to the same period last year and simultaneously increased import of fuel from Turkmenistan. Thus, import of oil products from Russia has reduced by 15% while import of oil products from Turkmenistan increased by approximately 8%.

In general the total volume of imported oil products in the reporting period has reduced by almost 24%: in January-April 2011 Tajikistan imported at least 170.000 tons of oil products.
