Dushanbe police is carrying out special inspection campaign to reveal drivers who illegally provide taxi services. The campaign is headed by the commander of the Dushanbe Traffic Police Unit Abdurahmon Buzmakov.

In his interview to AP Deputy Dushanbe Mayor Abdulkhak Oev, who is responsible for transport, said that illegal taxi drivers will face administrative charges.

“We offer drivers who wish to provide taxi services to obtain legal permissions and yellow-color plates of TT series,” he said.

He also said that the Dushanbe Traffic Police Unit toughened control over local terminals to prevent the activity of out-of-town public transport in the capital.

As reported by the Dushanbe Traffic Police Unit, more than 150 vehicles were delivered to penal parking places in the past two days for illegal taxi driving.

“Drivers who act without related permission violate the administrative legislation and fail to undergo medical examination. Additionally, their vehicles do not undergo required technical examination. All these factors pose serious threat to passengers’ health and do not meet road safety rules,” the source has said.
