Legalization of legal status of Tajik labor migrants in Tomks district of Russia was discussed at a meeting of head of the Tajik Government’s Migration Service Office in Russia Asror Odinaev with head of the Russian Federal Migration Service for Tomsk district Alexander Romanov.

As reported by the Tajik Migration Service, the sides discussed such issues as temporary stay of Tajik citizens in Tomsk, their employment and protection from dishonest employers, legalization of legal status of labor migrants.

A.Odinaev told about fruitful cooperation with Russian Federal Migration Service and a range of joint efforts aimed at adaptation of labor migrants in socio-cultural environment of the Russian society. According to A.Romanov, more than 1000 labor migrants from Tajikistan come to Tomsk district in search of job every year.

“In general, their labor and law-abiding behavior deserve positive evaluation,” Romanov has said. “That’s why Tomsk Mayor’s Office is currently considering an opportunity to attract nearly 400 citizens of Tajikistan to housing and communal system.”

The sides have expressed their willingness for further cooperation and development of mutually beneficial cooperation on future problems.

The same day A.Odinaev visited Tomsk Rubber shoe manufacturing factory where nearly 20 citizens of Tajikistan work.
