Representative commission of the Tajik Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and Tajik Social Protection, Employment and Migration Agency arrived today, June 1, to Kulob to discuss establishment of another center for children with physical disabilities.

In her interview to AP Kalamnisso Abdukayumova, head of Zarshedabonu company, which supports similar center “Parastu”, said that the European Commission has agreed to provide financial support to establishment of one more center. This regional center is expected to open in Kulob.

She said the new center will be established by Zarshedabonu company. “Kulob Mayor’s Office supported the initiative and allocated one of the buildings of former kindergarten,” she said, adding that currently there are five similar centers in the country – 2 in Dushanbe, 1 in Kulob, Hissar and Vose.

Parastu center, which is funded by Tajik Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, accommodates 28 children. Several times a week 35 children are delivered to the center for various consultations with specialists. The center provides individual consultations and treatment services to another 25 children at their homes.
