Foundation stone for a new Palace of Army Officers was laid today in Dushanbe by Tajik Defense Minister Lieutenant General Sherali Hairulloev and visiting Commander-in-Chief of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army General Staff Headquarters Four-star General Chen Bingde.
China allocated 90mln Yuans (approximately $14mln) for construction of this object, a spokesman for Tajik Ministry of Defense Faridun Mahmadaliev told AP.
The building will be erected by Chinese construction company. 200 constructors, 80% of whom will be citizens of China, will be involved in the construction. The Palace of Army Officers is expected to become operational in one and a half year.
Prior to the foundation stone laying ceremony Sherali Hairulloev and Chen Bingde met to discuss development of military-to-military and technical cooperation, training of Tajik officers in Chinese military universities.
