DUSHANBE, June 11, 2012, Asia-Plus — The government has prepared amendments to the RT Law “On the National Budget for 2012” and sent them for consideration to the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower house of parliament).

Ismoil Talbakov, member of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Committee on Finance and Budget, says the amendments proposed to this year’s national budget, in particular, provide for exempting the Ministry of Defense (MoD) and the National Guards from paying value added tax (VAT) and customs duties for delivery of arms and ammunitions as well as spare parts for their motor transport and helicopters.

“Besides, the government also asks the parliament to approve exemption of the Ministry of Health (MoH) from paying VAT and customs duties for two tomographic scanners being delivered to the country,” said MP.  “The government also asks the parliament to exempt the delivery of one million fixed-line telephone sets that will be installed in houses and apartments of vulnerable people from payment of VAT and customs duties.”
