DUSHANBE, June 18, 2012, Asia-Plus — The board (Shuro) of Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament considered a draft law to regulate the operations of pawn shops at a June 18 meeting, presided over by the Majlisi Namoyandagon speaker Shukurjon Zuhurov.

Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, says the board also considered draft laws requiring amendments the country’s laws on militsiya (police). Legal status of members of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) and deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, courts, prosecutor’s offices and public service.   

The issues have been tabled to the agenda of the next sitting of the third session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the fourth convocation that will take place I Dushanbe on June 20, Sultonov said.
