DUSHANBE, October 16, 2012, Asia-Plus  — A group of athletes from the Panj district in Khatlon province have joined the country’s ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

“PDP’s primary organization for the Panj district considered their applications today,” Adham Mirsaidov, chairman of Sozandagoni Vatan (Homeland Builders), which is the youth organization of the ruling party, told Asia-Plus in an interview on October 16.

Besides, 20 young medical workers were admitted into PDP on Tuesday, Mirsaidov added.

We will recall that twenty-five players and other members of the Ravshan Kulob football club joined the country’s ruling party in a special ceremony in early October this year.

According to Radio Liberty’s Tajik Service, Tajik media have recently linked Ravshan Kulob to the president”s wealthy son-in-law, Muhammadzohir Sohibov, who owns a private trade company and a lucrative city bazaar in the southern Khatlon province.
