DUSHANBE, November 20, 2012, Asia-Plus  — A preliminary meeting to discuss the agenda of the upcoming Tajik-German Inter-Governmental Negotiations took place at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation of Germany in Berlin on November 16, the Tajik MFA information department reports.

The next Tajik-German Inter-Governmental Negotiations are scheduled to take place in Dushanbe from November 28-29 this year.  Issues related to further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany on development and implementation of new Germany-supported projects for strengthening of Tajikistan’s economic, energy as well as educational-and-scientific potential, the source said.

Meanwhile, according information released by Devex on September 26 this year, during the Tajik-German Inter-Governmental Negotiations in November 2008, grant funds were  committed to finance a Rural Financial Sector Program, Phase 1 and during Tajik-German Inter-Governmental Negotiations in December 2010 additional grant funds amounting to EUR 12 million were committed for a Phase 2 of the Program.
