KHUJAND, November 20, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Man has buried his brother alive in the northern Sughd province.

This horrific incident took place in the city of Konibodom.  “The body of young man with tied hands was found in the city garbage dump on November 14 after stray dogs dug out a hole,” said an official source at the Sughd police directorate.  “The body has been identified as 28-year-old Suhrob Sulaymonov.”

A 30-year-old Firdavs Sulaymonov was detained on Monday on suspicion of having committed that crime.  “The preliminary investigation has established that on October 30, Firdavs Sulaymonov tied hands of his brother who was in a state of drunkenness and took him to the garbage dump where he buried him alive,” the source noted.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Firdavs Sulaymonov under the provisions of Article 104 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – murder; an investigation is under way.

According to the statistic data from the Sughd police directorate, 28 murders have been reported in the province over the first ten months of this year, which was nine cases fewer than in the same period last year.
