DUSHANBE, March 14, 2013, Asia-Plus  — Thirty-seven countries of the world have provided more than 12.9 million U.S. dollars worth of humanitarian aid to Tajikistan over the first two months of this year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

Some 2,500 tons of wheat flour, 295 tons of vegetable oil, US$808,000 worth of medicines and medical equipment, footwear and clothing for 72,000 U.S. dollars as well as food products and electrical appliances were delivered to the country over the report period.

Among the donor countries the greatest share in value came from the Russian Federation – 34.8 percent, Austria – 16.1 percent, China – 9.8 percent, Latvia – 8.1 percent, Kazakhstan – 6.4 percent, Denmark – 5.3 percent, Turkey – 4.2 percent, the Netherlands – 4.0 percent, the United States – 3.8 percent, Pakistan – 1.9 percent, Germany – 1.6 percent, Korea – 1.0 percent, Finland – 0/9 percent, the Czech republic – 0.8 percent, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) – 0.5 percent.
