Official press-release

Grant Thornton has announced the formation of a new member firm in Kyrgyzstan through our existing CIS member firms in Armenia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The new firm will be led by Gurgen Hakobyan, Grant Thornton Tajikistan managing partner, who will combine two managing partner roles and will provide clients with audit, tax and advisory services from their office in Bishkek.

Ed Nusbaum, Grant Thornton global CEO, said, «I am delighted that our three firms in the CIS region have taken a lead in developing our service offering. Kyrgyzstan is growing and represents great opportunities for us as a global organisation. I congratulate them on their success in building a strong client base that has enabled us to increase our presence in the region».

Gurgen Hakobyan said, «Over several years Grant Thornton Armenia has been actively involved in the development of our network’s presence in Central Asia, securing wins in the market, which resulted in the formation of a member firm in Tajikistan. I am happy to state that through similar success we are now seeing the creation of another firm in Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan is a developing economy and has many growth opportunities for our firm».
