DUSHANBE, April 24, 2013, Asia-Plus  — Said Sharif, the head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), who is currently in Doha, Qatar to attend the 8th World Chambers Congress yesterday held a number of bilateral meetings in Doha.

His discussions with Mr. Jean-Guy Carrier, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Mr. Rona Yircali, Chair of ICC World Chambers Federation reportedly focused on development of entrepreneurship under the conditions of global crisis, investment climate and development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Tajikistan.

Tuesday afternoon, Said Sharif also held talks with his Ukrainian and Russian counterparts in Doha.  The sides reportedly considered issues related to bilateral cooperation and holding of Russian and Ukrainian exhibitions in Dushanbe.

The 8th World Chambers Congress, which being held from April 22 to April 25, has brought together chambers of commerce and their leaders from around the world to share, learn and build new networks of opportunity.  Speakers include leaders and experts from chambers of commerce, business and government.

The following topics have been tabled to agenda of the Congress, which is being held under the theme “Opportunities for all”: education and unemployment; women in business; youth entrepreneurship; SMEs and the world economy; and services for chamber’s daily operations.

The World Chambers Congress is organized by the ICC World Chambers Federation.  Held every two years in a different region of the world, the Congress is the only international forum for chamber leaders and professionals to share best-practices, exchange insights, develop networks, address the latest business issues affecting their communities, and learn about new areas of innovation from chambers around the world.

The Congress helps chambers of every kind remain relevant, responsive and entrepreneurial in the services and products they provide to their member companies.  The event provides a unique opportunity for interaction among the global community of 12,000 chambers of commerce.
