DUSHANBE, July 17, 2013, Asia-Plus – Forty-two countries of the world have provided more than 47.2 million U.S. dollars worth of humanitarian aid to Tajikistan over the first six months of this year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

More than 4,500 tons of wheat flour, 293.6 tons of vegetable oil, more than US$26.3 million worth of medicines and medical equipment, footwear and clothing for 1.2417 million U.S. dollars as well as food products and electrical appliances were delivered to the country over the report period.

Among the donor countries the greatest share in value came from the United States – 68.9 percent, the Russian Federation – 9.7 percent, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) – 3.1 percent, China – 2.9 percent, the Netherlands – 2.4 percent, Austria – 1.9 percent, Denmark – 1.7 percent, Iran – 1.0 percent, etc.
