DUSHANBE, August 5, 2013, Asia-Plus – Russian mountaineer Alexander Beryozkin, who sustained a thigh injury on August 1 while he was together with a group of other Russian mountaineers at the Surgan Glacier (5,000 meters above sea level), was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Dushanbe on August 4, an official representative of the Tajik Embassy in Moscow, Mohammad Egamzod, told Asia-Plus today morning.

According to him, Anastasia Pavlova, the wife of the head of the Russian mountaineers group, Aleksei Solomonov, has noted that when the accident occurred the Russian and Tajik insurance and tourist companies began to dispute against each other and shift the responsibility to each other.

“The injured mountaineer needed an urgent medical aid, and therefore, Anastasia Pavlova has applied for help to the Tajik Embassy in Moscow,” said Egamzod.  “On Saturday, she officially applied to the Tajik MFA asking to help solve the issue.”

On Sunday, Anastasia Pavlova sent a message to the Tajik Embassy in Moscow, appreciating support provided in that difficult situation.  She also asked to convey their gratitude to all employees of the Embassy and the Tajik MFA who participated in seeking solution to the situation, Egamzod said.
