DUSHANBE, August 16, 2013, Asia-Plus – First Tajik Film Festival is being held at Kensington Central Library in London.
Organized by Payvand in cooperation with the Tajik Embassy in London and Harrow Iranian Community Association, the festival kicked off on August 14 and will conclude on August 17.
Feature films “Rostam va Sohrab” (Rostam and Sohrab), “Dostoni Siyavush” (The Legend of Siyavush), “Qismati Shoir” (A Poet’s Fate), “Ovora” (Rover), “Qosh ba Qosh,” and “Qiyomi Rouz” (Real Noon) have been demonstrated at the festival.
“Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, known Iranian film critic Hassan Solhjou noted that the first day of the festival has brought together some 100 Persian-speaking viewers and native residents of London,” an official source at Payvand told Asia-Plus in an interview.
Payvand, the international Society of Persian Speaking People, was launched in 1993 with the prime objective of fostering better understanding of Tajikistan culture and the role of Persian language in better networking between Persian speaking people living outside Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Iran.
