Emomali Rahmon will not hold meetings with voters personally

DUSHANBE, October 16, 2013, Asia-Plus – Incumbent President Emomali Rahmon, who was nominated for president by the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP), will not participate in pre-election meetings with voters personally; he will be represented by his authorized representatives.

Usmon Soliyev, head of the PDP public relations department, says President Rahmon has met with the population many times and he is well aware of problems facing residents if all regions of the country.  “Besides, he is occupied with managing the country, the government, and therefore, he will not be able to participate in meetings with voters personally,” Soliyev noted.

We will recall that under the country’s legislation, a presidential candidate has the right to have fifteen authorized representatives.

Tajik known poet Gulnazar Keldi, Associate Professor from the Kulob State University Khursand Azamov, Vice-Chancellor of the Khorog State University Nazri Ofaridayev, Principal of School # 3 in Rasht Azam Hasanov, poetess Mehriniso Bobobekova, head of Tajik Writers’ Union’s office in Sughd province Ahmadjon Rahmatzoda, Director of the Institute of Philosophy and Law of the Academy of Sciences Abduvohid Shamolov, Professor Nodir Odilov, student from Tajik National University Mehrubon Mirzoyeva, Vice-Chancellor of Tajik National University Ashourboy Soliyev, Director of the Center for Islamic Studies under the President of Tajikistan Murodullo Davlatov, Associate Professor form Tajik National University Ilhom Homidov, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Tajik National University Emomali Nasreddinov, and Director of the National Center for Legislation under the President of Tajikistan Mahmad Rahimov are authorized representatives of Emomali Rahmon.
