KHUJAND, October 22, 2013, Asia-Plus — The murder of ten years’ prescription has reportedly been solved in Khujand, the capital of the northern Sughd province.

According to the Interior Ministry’s office in Sughd, three residents of Khujand have been arrested on suspicion of having been involved in the murder that was committed in 2003.

“On May 27, 2003, unidentified assailants shot dead the employee of the currency exchange office, Bakhtiyor Majidov, and seized  a large amount of money,” an official source at the Interior Ministry’s office in Sughd said.

According to him, R.S., who is neighbor of the killed Majidov, his relative A.Y. and A.A., who has previous convictions for murder and drug trafficking, were arrested yesterday on suspicion of killing Bakhtiyor Majidov.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against them and an investigation is under way.
