DUSHANBE, November 15, 2013, Asia-Plus — The Association “HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation” Branch in Tajikistan has published a directory with all existing free legal aid centers run by governmental agencies, NGOs, the Ombudsman’s office and pro-bono independent lawyers country-wide.
According to the Association “HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation” Branch in Tajikistan, the directory compiles addresses of 90 legal aid centers and 5 crisis centers as well as information on ongoing radio show programs on legal topics.
The booklet is a handy help for any person in need of legal assistance. It is distributed widely and free of charge among government authorities, development agencies. Copies of the directory can ordered with [email protected]
The directory was reportedly produced in the frame of the “Access to Justice” Project implemented by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation, in consortium with UNDP Tajikistan under financial support of the Swiss Government. The objective of the “Access to Justice” Project is to raise legal literacy, support free legal assistance in family law related conflicts.
The project works in close collaboration with local partner organizations INIS, Bureau of Human Rights and Rule of Law (BHR), Center for Human Rights, Madadgor, League of Women Lawyers and the Ombudsman Office.
