DUSHANBE, November 18, 2013, Asia-Plus — Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament has discussed the process of implementation of the national budget for 2013.

Parliamentary hearing over the process of implementation of the national budget for 20103, presided over by the Majlisi Namoyandagon first deputy head, Amirsho Miraliyev, was held on November 18.

Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, says the main objective of the hearing was in discussing the ways to provide transparency of use of budgetary funds as well as reveal and remove existing shortcomings.

Speaking at the meeting, Safarali Rajabov, the head of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Committee on Economics and Finance, in particular, noted that according to the data from the country’s law enforcement agencies 1,192 officials have been implicated in untargeted use of state funds over the first nine months of this year, and administrative action has been imposed upon them; 45 of them have been sacked.

Senior representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Tax Committee, the Customs Service and the Chamber of Accounts released reports at the meeting, Sultonov said.
