Rahmon attends groundbreaking ceremony for construction of oil refinery in Danghara

DUSHANBE, March 24, 2014, Asia-Plus — On March 23, President Emomali Rahmon attended groundbreaking ceremonies for construction of a spinning mill and ten nine-storey apartment buildings in his hometown Danghara.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, Tojik Sodirot Bonk (TSB) will finance construction of the mentioned apartment buildings and the spinning mill with annual capacity of 6,000 tons of cotton fiber.

In all, more than 60 million U.S dollars will be spent for construction of those nine-storey apartment buildings and the spinning mill.

On the same day, the president attended an official ceremony of opening of a detergent manufacturing plant in the Danghara Free Economic Zone (FEZ Danghara).

This enterprise that has been built with help of Iranian entrepreneurs has created 15 new jobs for local residents.  1.4 million U.S. dollars were reportedly spent for construction of this plant with annual capacity of 400 tons of detergents.

On March 23, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and China’s Ambassador to Tajikistan Fan Xianrong attended a groundbreaking ceremony for construction of Tajik-Chinese joint oil refinery with refining capacity of 1.2 million tons per year.  This oil refinery will also be built in FEZ Danghara.
