DUSHANBE, May 13, 2014, Asia-Plus – The Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption says that top managers of Tajik leasing company, Nakhust Leasing, have forged documents in order to evade customs duties.

According to information posted on the anticorruption agency’s website, Nakhust Leasing director A. Mirzoyev in collusion with other top managers of the company forged documents in order to evade customs clearance charge.

Nakhust Leasing reportedly did not pay customs duties in an amount of some 21 million somoni (equivalent to more than 4.3 million USD) while getting customs clearance for Boeing 757-200 ER.

By decision handed down by a court in Dushanbe’s Firdavsi district two Boeing 737-400s belonging to Nakhust Leasing and operated by Tajik national air carrier, Tajik Air, were arrested.

“During the preliminary investigation that has been conducted in close collaboration with officers from the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan, Nakhust Leasing reimbursed 20,812,688.82 somoni,” the anticorruption agency noted.

Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) Nakhust Leasing was established at the Tojik Sodirot Bonk (TSB) in 2004.

TSB was established in December 1990 as the Tajik branch of the Vnesh Econom Bank of the former Soviet Union, and it initially specialized in trade and import-export banking.  Later this branch was reorganized into a Joint-Stock Commercial Bank “Tajikvnesheconombank”. In June 1999 the bank was renamed and registered as Tojik Sodirot Bonk or TSB.

Headquartered in Dushanbe, TSB has 9 branches in the main cities of Tajikistan and covering all regions of the country.  The Bank head is Tojiddin Pirzoda.
