DUSHANBE, May 29, 2014, Asia-Plus — Tajik President Emomali Rahmon today sent a cable of congratulations to his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Azerbaijan’s national holiday, the Tajik president’s official website reports.

In his message, Tajik leader, in particular, notes that Tajikistan attaches significant importance to its multi-aspect cooperation with Azerbaijan and expressed confidence that Aliyev’s forthcoming visit to Tajikistan will give new impulse to further expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev is the President of Azerbaijan, since 2003.  He also functions as the Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party and the head of the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan.
