DUSHANBE, May 29, 2014, Asia-Plus /Avaz Yuldoshev/ — As part of his official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon held a number of bilateral meetings with high-ranking Bahraini state officials in the Bahrain capital Manama today morning, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

Rahmon’s meeting with Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani, Chairman of the Council of Representatives (Majlis an-Nuwab — Bahrain’s lower chamber of parliament) was reportedly focused on issues related to strengthening of the legislation foundation of relations between Tajikistan and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Emomali Rahmon and Ali bin Saleh al-Saleh, Chairman of Bahrain’s upper house (Majlis al-Shura or Consultative Council) of parliament, discussed issues related to expansion of political, economic, cultural, scientific and educational cooperation between the two countries.

On the same day, Tajik president met with Khalid bin Abdurahman Al-Muayyad, Head of Bahrain’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Tajik president’s website said.

The two reportedly discussed establishment of cooperation between the business communities of Tajikistan and the Kingdom Bahrain.

Head of Bahrain’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry noted that a large delegation of Bahraini entrepreneurs would visit Dushanbe in the near future.

While in Manama, Emomali Rahmon also held talks with top managers of a number of Bahrain banks, the source said.
