KHOROG, June 2, 2014, Asia-Plus – On Saturday May 31, the presidential adviser on national security, Sherali Khairulloyev, who is the head of the government commission for investigation into deadly clashes on May 21, met here with senior representatives of the mayor‘s office of Khorog, the capital of Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous (GBAO) and heads of Khorog mahallas (urban divisions) to discuss ways of further settlement of the conflict in Khorog.

Sherali Khairulloyev asked senor representatives of the Khorog mayor’s office and heads of local mahallas to promote peaceful settlement of the situation and called on them not to yield to provocations.

The meeting participants noted that the city residents would not interfere in the investigation process.

Speaking at the meeting, the presidential adviser on national security assured that the investigation into the clashes would be carried out in a short space of time and persons guilty of the clashes, whether they are law enforcement officers or anybody else, will be punished.
