DUSHANBE, September 3, 2014, Asia-Plus — A large amount of heroin has been seized in the northern Sughd province.

The Interior Ministry’s website reports that resident of the Mastchoh district, Khudoydod Komilov, 41, was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking in the Bobojonghafourov district on September 2.  Several packages of drug narcotic that tested positive to heroin weighing 14.6 kilograms were found hidden in his VAZ-2121.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the alleged drug peddler and an investigation is under way.
