DUSHANBE, April 28, 2015, Asia-Plus — Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev today morning visited the Shohmansour bazaar, where he held a meeting with vendors whose shops will be relocated to the Trading Center Poytakht-90.

“The mayor clarified the reason for relocation of their shops,” the head of the Dushanbe department for trade and bazaars regulation, Sayfullo Amonov, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, they have made a concerted decision that the vendors’ shops at the Shohmansour bazaar will not be demolished but they will be used only for selling vegetables, fruits and food products.

“Vendors selling high-quality industrial goods will be placed at the Trading Center Poytakht-90, while others will be placed at other markets of the city,” Amonov said, noting that 15 vendors selling building materials and household goods have agreed to work at the Shanghai Bozor market.

We will recall that a group of vendors running shops at Dushanbe’s Shohmansour bazaar near the building of the Tajik national TV channel,

Shabakai Aval

(Channel One), on April 25.  They tried to draw the leadership of the Tajik government”s attention to their problems.  Those gathered were discontented about the mayor’s office’s decision to relocate their shops to the Trading Complex Poytakht-90.

The head of the Dushanbe department for trade and bazaars regulation, Sayfullo Amonov, noted on April 25 that their discontent is absolute unfounded.  “The Shohmansour bazaar is intended for selling vegetables, fruits and food products but not for selling furniture, household electronics and clothing,” said Amonov.  “For the purpose of removing traffic jams near the bazaar the mayor’s office made the decision to relocate all shops selling furniture, household electronics and clothing to the Trading Complex Poytakht-90.”

According to him, shops selling dried fruits and honey will also be relocated to the Trading Complex Poytakht-90.
