DUSHANBE, May 12, 2015, Asia-Plus – Organized by Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) and International Peace Youth Group (IPYG), a Peace Walk has taken place in Khatlon’s Hamadoni and Farkhor district.

Press release issued by HWPL says the Peace Walk was held in Tajikistan for the first time as part of events to commemorate the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II (WWII).

A spokesperson for HWPL in Tajikistan says that several hundreds of people, including young people, war veterans and public figures, participated in the Peace Walk that took place in the Hamadoni district on May 8 and in the Farkhor district on May 9.

According to HWPL, over 27,000 people gathered on May 25, 2013 to create awareness and motivate others to work together for peace. This took place in the form of a peace walk in Seoul, South Korea.  Following this event 38 other youth organizations hosted their own IPYG Peace Walk in 23 nations, and continue to do so.  The Peace Walk has become an annual IPYG event.

Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization registered under the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs that transcends differences in culture, belief and region to engage leaders and youth in sustainable and comprehensive solutions for peace.

To that end, HWPL is committed to community development through volunteer outreach, women advocacy, and cultural and religious exchange through International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) and youth engagement through International Peace Youth Group (IPYG). It strives to facilitate comprehensive grassroots peace building that involves diverse voices of the community: leaders in education, governmental and religious sectors as well as non-profit organizations and youth to create sustainable solutions and empower individuals and communities to be an integral part in global peace building.

International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) is a youth organization comprised of many affiliated youth groups working for world peace.  It began in January 2013 with the vision and goal of creating a lasting change in the world through our passion and desire to see peace-loving citizens in every nation and a united world youth.

IPYG’s goal is to become a platform where all youth will be able to meet and encounter one another in a meaningful way through IPYG, and go on to make a great difference in the lives of people we meet in turn.  IPYG reportedly has over 321 youth group affiliates in 80 countries worldwide.
