DUSHANBE, November 23, 2015, Asia-Plus – Issues related to cooperation between Tajikistan and the World Bank (WB) within the social sector where discussed here at the end of last week during a meeting between Ms. Marhabo Jabbori, Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan and Ms, Dinara Joldosheva, acting World bank Resident Representative in Tajikistan.

An official source in the Tajik government says the two sides exchanged views on ways to expand bilateral cooperation, improve Tajikistan’s labor market, involve housewives in permanent jobs, and create new jobs.

The World Bank’s active portfolio in Tajikistan includes 25 projects (including regional projects) with a net commitment of US$ 383 million that aim to support economic growth through private sector development, while investing in better public services for people, such as education, health, municipal services and social protection.  The World Bank Group is committed to continue supporting Tajikistan as it strives to improve the lives of its people and meet the aspirations of its young and growing population.
