DUSHANBE, November 24, 2015, Asia-Plus – Russian media outlets report that Russia and Iran have signed a number of documents on economic cooperation.

Moscow and Tehran reportedly signed a number of agreements on economic cooperation on Monday, including on Russia constructing a thermal power station in Iran, after a meeting between heads of the two countries on the sidelines of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

, Russian engineering company Technopromexport will build four power-generating units of 350 megawatts each and a desalination plant with a total capacity of 200,000 cubic meters per day near the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas.

The Russian and the Iranian Railways agreed on electrification of a 307.5-mile leg of railway line between the Iranian northern Garmsar and northwestern city of Ince Burun.

The Russian and Iranian governments also signed an agreement on simplification of mutual travelling for particular categories of citizens and a memorandum of understanding between the two countries” health ministries.

The Russian geological company Rosgeologia and the Iranian Energy Ministry agreed on search and assessment of groundwater reserve on the Islamic Republic”s territory.

Russia and Iran work together in different spheres, including trade, energy, military and technical cooperation.
