A two-and-a-half-year-old girl from Devashtich district who gained public attention for reciting verses from the Shahnameh has been honored by the Sughd regional education authorities following a report by Asia-Plus.
Asia-Plus recently published a feature about Hanifa Sa’dullozoda, a young girl who has memorized dozens of verses from the epic poem Shahnameh by renowned Persian-Tajik poet Abulqosim Firdavsi. The report, published ahead of the Day of Commemoration of the celebrated poet, received widespread positive feedback from readers and viewers.
Speaking to Asia-Plus, Ms. Gulsara Mirzozoda, head of the Sughd Education Department, said she visited Devashtich district on June 2 to personally encourage and recognize the young reciter.
According to Mirzozoda, gifted children such as Hanifa represent a valuable asset for the country’s education system and cultural heritage.
Hanifa’s mother, Mahina Yunusova, told Asia-Plus by phone that she was pleased and grateful for the attention her daughter received from education officials. She noted that Hanifa had also been invited to participate in an International Children’s Day celebration in the district center, where she recited verses from the Shahnameh.
“I am thankful to Asia-Plus for highlighting my daughter’s talent,” Yunusova said. “After the video was published, relatives, journalists, and many people from across the province and the country contacted me to learn more about Hanifa. The head of the regional education department visited us with gifts and honored my little girl.”
Asia-Plus previously featured Hanifa in a report titled: Shohnomakhoni duyunimsola. Chiguna Hanifai khurdsol “Shohnoma” azyod mekunad?
