DUSHANBE, January 12, 2016, Asia-Plus – Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Aslov yesterday met here with visiting Pakistani Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two sides discussed the results of a join work on implementation of agreements that had been reached during Tajik president’s state visit to Pakistan in November last year and outlined priorities of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

They also discussed a number of regional issues being of mutual interest.

We will recall that Federal Minister for Water and Power of Pakistan Khawaja Muhammad Asif arrived in Dushanbe yesterday on a two-day working visit.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif is a Pakistani parliamentarian, banker and a politician affiliated with Pakistan Muslim League (N) who currently serves as the Federal Minister for Water and Power and also maintains the additional charge as the Defense Minister of Pakistan.  He also had a short-tenure in the Petroleum ministry in the Gillani cabinet.
