DUSHANBE, Mach 18, 2016, Asia-Plus – A two-way trade between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan has reportedly been considerably increased this year, though Tajikistan’s trade ties with other CIS member nations have weakened.

According to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan over the first two months of this year has valued at 3.7 million U.S. dollars, which is 4.2 times more than in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, Tajikistan’s trade with CIS nations over the same two-month period has fallen 12.2 percent.

A two-way trade between Tajikistan and Ukraine has fallen 54 percent, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Belarus has fallen 50 percent, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan has fallen 40 percent, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Russia has fallen by 14 percent, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan has fallen 14 percent, and a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan has fallen 8.0 percent.
