DUSHANBE, June 9, 2016, Asia-Plus – Chairman of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Sharif Said yesterday met here with Belarusian Ambassador to Tajikistan Oleg Ivanov.

According to the CCI press center, the two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Belarus.

They, in particular, outlined creation of joint ventures on producing and processing cotton, fruits and vegetables, assembling tractors and refrigerators, and repairing diesel-driven vehicles in Tajikistan as one of priorities of economic cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Ivanov reportedly informed Tajik CCI head about a number of economic projects expected to be implemented in Tajikistan, including creation of a joint venture on repairing Belarusian trucks BelAZ and MAZ as well as a service center for them.

Belarusian diplomat underlined significance of establishment and expansion of inter-region cooperation not only with Tajikistan but also with Afghanistan, the Tajik CCI press center said.    

Sharif Said, for his part, noted that international exhibition, dubbed

Tajikistan 2016

, would be held in Dushanbe from July 22-24 this year and invited Belarusian enterprises and companies to participate in the exhibition.
