DUSHANBE, July 1, 2016, Asia-Plus – Over the first five months of this year, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan, including electrical power, has amounted to 1.603 billion U.S. dollars, which was 98 percent of the January-May 2015 level or 33.3 million U.S. dollars fewer, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
The trade balance in January-May this year has been negative and amounted to 891.6 million U.S. dollars.
Exports of goods over the report period have amounted to 355.9 million U.S. dollars, which was 0.8 percent or 2.8 million USD fewer than in the same period last year.
Over the same five-month period, imports of goods into the country have amounted to 1.2475 billion U.S. dollars, which was 2.8 percent or 36.1 million USD fewer than in January-May, 2015.
Over the first five months of this year, Tajikistan has had trade relations with 98 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.
Over the report period, major trading partners of Tajikistan were: Russia – 428 million USD; China – 409 million USD; Kazakhstan – 250 million USD; Turkey – 132 million USD; etc.
