DUSHANBE, July 7, 2016, Asia-Plus – The Yekaterinburg-based Expert Club “Ural-Eurasia” will host a roundtable formally titled “Tourism Potential of Russia, Eurasian Economic Union and Central Asia” tomorrow, July 8.

The meeting is expected to bring together representatives of tourism industries of Russia, member nations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Central Asia’s countries.

Deputy CEO of the Development Foundation of Armenia Alina Yegiazaryan (Yerevan), Head of the “Zerafshan” Tourism Development Association Jamshed Yusupov (Khujand, Tajikistan), Director of the Entrepreneurship and Tourism Development Department at the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Sverdlovsk Oblast Alexander Porodnov (Yekaterinburg, Russia), and Chairman of the Ural Tourism Association Mikhail Maltsev (Yekaterinburg, Russia) will deliver statements at the meeting.

They will release reports on tourism opportunities of Armenia, Tajikistan and Russia’s Sverdlovsk Oblast, state of tourism infrastructures, problems facing tourism industries in Armenia, Tajikistan and Russia as well as cooperation between government bodies of the EAEU member countries and the Central Asian nations in developing tourism and relevant industries.

According to the statistical data from the Committee for Youth Sports and Tourism Affairs under the Government of Tajikistan, more than 463,700 foreign nationals visited Tajikistan last year.  More than 413,800 of them visited the country as tourists.

In 2015, tourist arrivals reportedly earned Tajikistan about 207 million U.S. dollars.
