DUSHANBE, July 7, 2016, Asia-Plus — The World Bank is starting implementation of the project on launching electronic and digital financial services in Tajikistan, according to the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).
The NBT press center says representatives of the World Bank noted that during a meeting with senior representatives of Tajik central bank here on July 5.
The project is reportedly aimed at extending access of the population to modern financial services with use of new innovative business models, in particular use of mobile phone, Internet, self-learning terminals and bank agents.
The project, which is designed for four years, is planned to introduce technology of electronic money, Internet banking, access to bank services through mobile phones, Internet payments and other electronic financial services.
