Yovon district of Khatlon oblast for the years of independence of Tajikistan had become a major industrial center of the country. This was stated by the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, speaking on Monday, September 5, in the course of putting into operation new enterprises of the concern "TALCO chemistry".

He noted that the industrial might of the Yovon district in recent years has increased with the opening of several large industrial enterprises.

In general, according to the President, the number of industrial facilities located in the territory of Yovon district, after opening today of three new enterprises for the production of raw materials for "Tajik aluminum company", has reached 40 units.

E. Rahmon stressed that a few days ago was opened the railway Dushanbe – Yovon – Kurgan-Tyube – Kulyab, which “is of great importance for the further development of industrial sector of Khatlon region, in particular of Yovon region”.

"Because the presence of the railway is an important factor for the development of the industry", – concluded Mr. President.

This morning the President has opened in Yovon three companies included in “TALCO chemistry” corporation for the production of cryolite, aluminum fluoride and sulphuric acid.
