– One has been shot dead in a mass brawl in Khorog, the capital of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).

“A mass brawl between young men from two streets of Khorog took place on October and a 33-year-old Firouz Odinashoyev was shot dead in the brawl,” Umarjon Emomali, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, one person has been detained on suspicion of killing Odinashoyev.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted under the provisions of Article 104 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – murder; an investigation is under way.

Emomali refrained from giving further details of the incident.
