The final sitting of the third session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) of the fifth convocation will take place on June 30 and then Majlisi Namoyandagon deputies will go on a summer recess.

A June 30 meeting is expected to review the results of the past year’s work and consider a number of draft laws, an official source at the Majlisi Namoyandagon told Asia-Plus in an interview.

The summer recess will last until August 15, and from August 16 to September 30, lawmakers will work in profile committees.  The fourth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the fifth convocation will begin its work on October 1, 2017. 

In case of necessity, the President of Tajikistan has the right to convoke an extraordinary session of the parliament during the summer recess.
