Two residents of the northern Sughd province have been arrested on suspicion of killing their fathers, according to the Interior Ministry’s website. 

On September 12, a 25-year-old resident of the Asht district being in a state of drunkenness hit his 47-year-old father in the head with a shovel several times.  The man sustained serious injuries and died on the spot.  

On September 13, a 40-year-old man from the Khistevarz jamoat in the Bobojon-Ghafourov district inflicted five stab wounds on his 65-year-old father following quarrel.  The man died on the spot.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against both suspected patricides and investigations are under way.
