On Saturday January 13, the newly appointed governor of the Sughd province, Rajabboy Ahmadzoda, held a working meeting to get acquainted with the socioeconomic situation in the province and on January 14 he visited Khujand’s Panjshanbe bazaar for the purpose of inspecting the sanitary situation at the bazar.   

The governor pointed to the necessity of rehabilitating the bazaar infrastructure.  He ordered to complete the repairing works before the Navrouz holiday (March 21).

Ahmadzoda also ordered the sanitation supervision agency to organize strict control over the imported food products, especially meat products.  

Following the governor’s recommendations the bazaar administrators reduced meat prices — for one kilogram of beef from35 somoni to 33 somoni and for one kilogram of lamb from 38 somoni to 36 somoni.

On Sunday January 14, Ahmadzoda also visited the Afrosiyob bazaar and the Bahor shopping mall.
