A government session, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon took place in Dushanbe on March 26.  The meeting focused on the issues related to socioeconomic development of the country and measures to ensure the regular work of the country’s economy during autumn-winter 2018-2019, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

The Minister of Economic Development and Trade Nematullo Hikmatullozoda reported on the measures taken to ensure the regular work of the country’s economy during the autumn-winter period.

The session also discussed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the field of manpower.

The head of state reportedly ordered the Ministry of Labor, Migration and employment of the Population to take specific measures regarding simplification of mutual travels of nationals of the two countries in the framework of bilateral agreements.        

The session participants also discussed the issue of establishing the Glacier Monitoring Research Center at the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.  The Center will be engaged in monitoring glaciers and other sources of water in the country.

The government members also discussed a number of draft agreements and sent them for consideration to the lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament, the president’s website said.
