Customs officers have seized 3 million undeclared Russian rubles at the Khujand airport, according to the press center of the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan.

An inspection of passengers on the Khujand-Yekaterinburg flight found 3,000,000 (three million) Russian rubles hidden in a belt of passenger Firdavs Pulotov.

The case has been sent to the Sughd transportation prosecutor’s office.  Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Firdavs Pulotov him under the provisions of two articles of Tajikistan’s Penal Code: Article 32 (3) – preparation for a crime or an attempted crime; and Article 289 (2) – smuggling.  An investigation is under way.
