Judoka Komronsho Ustopiriyon has grabbed the bronze medal for Tajikistan, finishing third in the men's U90 kg at the at the Asian Games in Indonesia.

This is the fourth medal for Tajikistan including three silver medals in men’s hammer throw, kurash (folk wrestling style practiced in Central Asia) and canoe.  

Komronshoh Ustopiriyon (born 7 January 1993) is a Tajikistani judoka.  He won the Grand Prix Antalya in 2018 and Grand Prix in Tashkent in 2017 and GP Astana in 2014 U90kg.  Besides, Ustopiriyon won bronze at Asian Championships in 2015 and silver at the Grand Prix in Tashkent in 2015.  He also won bronze at the European Open in Minsk in 2017.

This year, Tajik athletes are participating in the Asian Summer Games for the seventh time.  In the previous six Asiads, Tajik athletes won totaling 21 meads, including 4 gold, 3 silver and 14 bronze medals.  

The Asian Games, also known as Asiad, is a continental multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia.  The Games were regulated by the Asian Games Federation (AGF) from the first Games in New Delhi, India, until the 1978 Games.  Since the 1982 Games, they have been organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), after the breakup of the Asian Games Federation.  The Games are recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and are described as the second largest multi-sport event after the Olympic Games.
